Fantastic cars have been build by many makers during the 20th century. Examples that keep fascinating car lovers you find in the section "Old & Young".

Already at that time subjects like the environment and energy triggered the development of new technologies. Makers have moved mountains in order to meet ever stricter imposed governmental rules. Remember the Spica fuel injection introduced by Alfa Romeo in the USA in the 1970' for the sake of emission reduction?

As a very beneficial result cars today excel in consuming a lot less fossil fuels while being even more performant . And (maybe partial) electrification of our mobility is no doubt here to stay.

Cars shown below are very nice examples of how makers of those icon Oldtimers continue to amaze the world with their ongoing innovative excellence in producing wonderful automobiles.

TWINGO
Special Edition Benetton
1996

Renault Twingo benetton

The Renault Twingo Benetton is a special edition of the popular Renault Twingo, a compact city car that was first introduced in 1992. The Twingo Benetton edition, launched in 1996, was part of Renault's strategy to create a unique and trendy version of the Twingo by partnering with the fashion brand Benetton. This collaboration aimed to attract young, style-conscious buyers with a car that stood out for its bold colors and unique design touches.

The Twingo Benetton is most notable for its vibrant color options, which were inspired by Benetton's fashion-forward and colorful brand image. The car was available in several eye-catching shades, including bright blues, greens, and yellows, reflecting the 1990s trend for bold, expressive colors.
The exterior also featured unique Benetton branding, with decals or badges that identified the car as part of this special edition.

Inside, the Twingo Benetton continued the colorful theme. The seats, door panels, and dashboard were often accented with bright fabrics and contrasting colors, creating a playful and energetic atmosphere.
The Benetton logo was also present inside the car, often embroidered on the seats or integrated into the interior design elements.

While based on the standard Twingo, the Benetton edition came with additional equipment that enhanced its appeal. This included features like air conditioning, a sunroof, and special alloy wheels, which were not always standard on the base models.
The car was designed to be both fun and functional, maintaining the Twingo's reputation for being a practical city car with clever use of space and versatility.
Engine and Performance:

The Renault Twingo Benetton shared its mechanicals with the standard Twingo models of the time. It typically featured a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine, which produced around 55 horsepower. This modest power output was sufficient for city driving, and the car was known for its excellent fuel efficiency.
The Twingo's compact size and light weight made it easy to maneuver in urban environments, and its simple but effective suspension provided a comfortable ride.

The Twingo Benetton was aimed at a young, urban demographic, appealing to those who valued individuality and style in their choice of car. It was a successful special edition in that it enhanced the Twingo's image as a trendy and fun vehicle.
Today, the Twingo Benetton is considered a collector's item, particularly among enthusiasts of 1990s cars and Renault fans. Its unique styling and the association with the iconic Benetton brand give it a special place in the history of small, fashionable cars.
The Renault Twingo Benetton remains a memorable example of how car manufacturers can collaborate with fashion brands to create a vehicle that is more than just a means of transportation—it's a statement of style and personality.

ALFA ROMEO
ARNA 1,2 SL
1984

Arna

The 1984 Alfa Romeo Arna 1.2 LS is a unique and somewhat controversial model in Alfa Romeo's history. The Arna was the result of a joint venture between Alfa Romeo and the Japanese automaker Nissan, aiming to combine Italian styling and engineering with Japanese reliability. However, the Arna's legacy is often viewed with mixed opinions.

The Arna (Alfa Romeo Nissan Autoveicoli) was born out of a collaboration between Alfa Romeo and Nissan, known as the Alfa Romeo Nissan Autoveicoli S.p.A. The goal was to create a car that could compete in the highly competitive compact car segment, leveraging Nissan's production capabilities and Alfa Romeo's brand appeal.

The car was based on the Nissan Cherry (also known as the Pulsar in some markets), which provided the basic body shell and mechanical components. However, Alfa Romeo contributed by fitting their own engines, suspension, and other components. The Arna was produced in Italy at the Pratola Serra plant, with assembly combining elements from both manufacturers.

The Arna 1.2 LS was powered by a 1.2-liter inline-four engine, derived from Alfa Romeo's own engine family. This engine produced around 63 horsepower, which, while not particularly powerful, was typical for small hatchbacks of the era.

The car was equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, which was a selling point at the time, offering better performance and fuel economy compared to the more common 4-speed gearboxes in other compact cars.

With its 1.2-liter engine, the Arna 1.2 LS had modest performance figures. It could reach a top speed of approximately 93 mph (150 km/h) and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 14 seconds. The car was designed more for economy and practicality than outright performance.

The Arna featured front-wheel drive with MacPherson strut front suspension and a rear torsion beam setup, which was a common configuration for compact cars. Alfa Romeo made adjustments to the suspension to give the Arna more of a "driver's car" feel, although it never achieved the dynamic prowess of other Alfa models.

The Arna's design was functional but unremarkable. It retained much of the Nissan Cherry's styling, which was boxy and conservative, rather than the sleek and sporty lines typically associated with Alfa Romeo. The interior was also basic, with straightforward instrumentation and materials more focused on durability than luxury.

The LS trim was one of the mid-level trims offered for the Arna. It included some additional features compared to the base model, such as better upholstery, a more complete instrument cluster, and other minor comfort and convenience upgrades.

The Arna was met with criticism, primarily because it didn't live up to the expectations of either brand's reputation. Alfa Romeo enthusiasts were disappointed by the lack of Italian flair and the reliance on a Japanese platform, while Nissan customers found little to justify the higher price tag over a Nissan Cherry.

The Arna is often cited as an example of a poorly executed joint venture. It didn't sell well, and production ceased by 1987. Despite its commercial failure, the Arna is remembered for its uniqueness and the lessons it taught both companies about brand identity and market expectations.

Today, the Arna has a niche following among Alfa Romeo collectors. Its rarity, combined with its unusual place in automotive history, makes it an interesting piece for enthusiasts, though it is not as highly prized as other classic Alfa Romeos.

The 1984 Alfa Romeo Arna 1.2 LS stands as a curious chapter in Alfa Romeo's history, a car that aimed to blend Italian and Japanese strengths but ultimately fell short in the eyes of many.

ALFA ROMEO
GTV6 2.5
1982

GTV6

The Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5 is a classic Italian sports car produced by Alfa Romeo from 1980 to 1987. It's a high-performance version of the Alfetta GTV, featuring a 2.5-liter V6 engine that became one of the most iconic powerplants in Alfa Romeo's history.

The GTV6 is powered by a 2.5-liter V6 engine, designed by the legendary engineer Giuseppe Busso. The engine, known for its distinctive exhaust note, produces around 160 horsepower and 157 lb-ft of torque. It features a 60-degree V-angle, aluminum alloy construction, and a single overhead camshaft per bank.

The car comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, which is coupled with a rear transaxle (a combination of transmission and differential). This transaxle layout provides near-perfect weight distribution and contributes to the car's excellent handling characteristics.

The GTV6 features a rear-wheel-drive layout with independent front suspension (double wishbones) and a de Dion rear axle, which is unusual for a road car. This setup, combined with the rear transaxle, gives the GTV6 exceptional balance and agility, making it a joy to drive on twisty roads.

The car has a sleek, angular design typical of the late 1970s and early 1980s. The GTV6 is easily recognized by its distinctive front end with twin headlights, a low nose, and the iconic Alfa Romeo grille. The hood has a prominent bulge, necessary to accommodate the taller V6 engine. The interior is driver-focused, with supportive seats and a simple but functional dashboard layout.

The GTV6 2.5 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 8.5 seconds, with a top speed of around 130 mph (210 km/h). While these figures may not seem remarkable by today's standards, the GTV6 is more about the driving experience, with its balanced chassis, responsive engine, and sharp steering.

The GTV6 has a strong motorsport pedigree. It was highly successful in touring car racing, particularly in the European Touring Car Championship (ETCC), where it won the championship four times in a row from 1982 to 1985. The car was also famously driven by the protagonist in the 1983 James Bond film "Octopussy."

Today, the GTV6 is considered a classic and is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. Its combination of classic Italian design, distinctive V6 engine, and engaging driving dynamics make it a beloved model in Alfa Romeo's storied history.

The Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5 is a perfect representation of Alfa Romeo's passion for blending style, performance, and engineering innovation into a single package, making it a true icon of 1980s motoring.

HISTORY INFORMATION

Based on Carfax the car had 3 owners in US, The first was the Alfa Romeo dealer in California until 1986.

2nd one until 1999 and the 2rd until 2010 when car was unregistered.  2010 mileage indicated was 69.800 miles.

2016 the car was imported to Netherlands where it was registered.

The original ODO with miles needed to be replaced by one with 59197 Km 2022 a complete service costing more than € 8000 was performed by a GTV6 expert in Holland. Details are available.

This GTV6  runs really nice and like in most only shifting to the 2nd gear requires the necessary attention. Yet we are looking at fixing that.

Heritage certificate is available and it confirms the exterior black metallic paint with tan leather interior and the restoration was made accordingly.

Having spent its first life under the Californian sun the metallic paint had faded and the front seats got very damaged and with the leather irrecoverable....The new leather is the original material bought in "Trinchero" Turin official Alfa provider in the 80's. The sewings (expert work) was performed like original.

The headlining was replaced with cream fabric, again like the original but with material respecting EU requirements.

The under carriage is perfect and clean.

A new windscreen with the antenna integrated had to be fitted and it is not brown tinted like the rest of the windows though that is hardly noticeable.

The dash was cracked in two places and been replaced by one in new condition.

IMPORTANT: This GTV is fitted (2023) with a brand new 75 power steering which enormously facilitates the handling of the car and makes it extra exclusive and fun to drive.

LANCIA
Ypsilon Elefantino Rosso
2001

Lancia Y

The Lancia Ypsilon has been a staple in the Lancia lineup since its introduction in 1985 (originally as the Autobianchi Y10, later rebranded as Lancia Y10, and then Ypsilon in 1995). It is known for combining compact dimensions with a luxurious, stylish design—typical of Italian city cars.
The "Elefantino" series, including the Elefantino Rosso, was launched in the late 1990s and early 2000s as part of Lancia's effort to attract younger buyers with sportier aesthetics and features.
Key Features of the Lancia Ypsilon Elefantino Rosso:

The Elefantino Rosso edition is distinguished by its unique styling cues. The most notable is the use of the "Rosso" or red color theme, which could be seen in various exterior accents. This edition often featured a red exterior or red elements like mirrors, badges, or special trim.
The Elefantino Rosso badge or logo, typically a small red elephant, was a key identifying feature. This logo harkens back to Lancia's motorsport history, where the elephant symbol was associated with performance and agility.
The car also had sportier design elements compared to the standard Ypsilon, such as alloy wheels, and possibly additional aerodynamic enhancements like a small rear spoiler or side skirts, depending on the specific year and market.

Inside, the Ypsilon Elefantino Rosso continued the sporty and youthful theme with unique upholstery, often featuring red stitching or accents to match the exterior theme.
The seats were likely more supportive, emphasizing a sporty driving position, and there may have been other interior touches like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, sporty instrumentation, or aluminum pedals.

The Elefantino Rosso edition was usually powered by one of the more powerful engine options available in the Ypsilon range at the time. While not a high-performance car, it offered a peppy and enjoyable driving experience, suitable for urban driving and occasional spirited driving on twisty roads.
The engine options typically included small-displacement petrol engines, such as a 1.2-liter or 1.4-liter inline-four, depending on the market and model year. These engines provided decent performance with a focus on fuel efficiency and ease of use in city conditions.
The car's handling was tuned to offer a more engaging driving experience, possibly with firmer suspension settings compared to the standard Ypsilon models.

The Lancia Ypsilon Elefantino Rosso was marketed as a more dynamic and youthful alternative within the Ypsilon lineup. It appealed to young professionals and city dwellers who wanted a stylish, compact car with a touch of sportiness.
While not as iconic as some other Lancia models, the Elefantino Rosso editions are appreciated by enthusiasts for their distinctive character and connection to Lancia's storied past, especially the brand's association with rallying and performance.
Today, the Ypsilon Elefantino Rosso can be considered a collectible, particularly among fans of Italian cars and those who appreciate the blend of style, sportiness, and urban practicality.
The Lancia Ypsilon Elefantino Rosso embodies the charm and flair that Lancia has been known for, offering a small car with a big personality, enhanced by its sporty touches and the legacy of the Elefantino name.

ALFA ROMEO
Alfetta GTV 2000 Lusso
1978

Alfetta GTV

The Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2000 Lusso is a special variant of the Alfetta GTV, a stylish and sporty coupe produced by Alfa Romeo during the 1970s and early 1980s. The GTV (Gran Turismo Veloce) was designed as a more performance-oriented version of the Alfetta, with the "Lusso" designation indicating a focus on luxury and comfort in addition to performance.

The Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV was introduced in 1974 as a coupe version of the Alfetta sedan, which debuted in 1972. The GTV was known for its sharp handling, thanks to the advanced chassis and suspension setup inherited from the sedan.
The GTV 2000 Lusso variant was introduced later as a higher-end version of the GTV, catering to buyers who wanted both performance and a more refined, luxurious driving experience.

The GTV 2000 Lusso was powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four engine, which was one of the most popular and well-regarded engines in Alfa Romeo's lineup at the time. This engine, known as the "Nord" engine, featured a double overhead camshaft (DOHC) design and produced around 130 horsepower.
The engine was mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, which allowed for smooth and engaging gear changes. The power was delivered to the rear wheels, providing the classic rear-wheel-drive handling dynamics that Alfa Romeo enthusiasts loved.

One of the standout features of the Alfetta series, including the GTV 2000 Lusso, was its advanced chassis design. The car used a transaxle layout, with the gearbox and differential located at the rear. This provided near-perfect weight distribution, which greatly improved handling and stability.
The front suspension used a double wishbone setup, while the rear featured a de Dion axle, a sophisticated design that allowed for independent suspension with a live axle, combining comfort with sporty handling.

The Alfetta GTV was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, and it featured sharp, angular lines that were very much in vogue during the 1970s. The GTV 2000 Lusso maintained this sleek and aggressive look, with some additional luxury touches.
The Lusso version typically featured higher-quality materials and finishes both inside and out. This might include upgraded upholstery, additional chrome or polished details, and special badging indicating the Lusso trim level.

The "Lusso" designation signified that this version of the GTV offered more in terms of comfort and luxury compared to the standard GTV. The interior was more plush, with better-quality materials, such as leather or high-grade cloth upholstery, and more extensive use of wood or faux wood trim.
The car likely came equipped with more features aimed at enhancing comfort, such as power windows, air conditioning, and a higher-end stereo system, depending on the specific market and year.

The GTV 2000 Lusso combined its sporty chassis with the powerful 2.0-liter engine, making it a lively and enjoyable car to drive. It could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 9 seconds, with a top speed of around 120 mph (193 km/h).
The handling was one of the car’s strong points, with sharp steering and balanced dynamics that made it a joy to drive on winding roads.

The GTV 2000 Lusso was positioned as a high-end sports coupe, aimed at buyers who wanted both the thrill of driving and a degree of luxury. It was a competitor to other European sports coupes of the time, such as the BMW 3 Series coupe and the Porsche 924.
It offered a unique blend of Italian style, engineering innovation, and driving pleasure, which set it apart from its rivals.

Today, the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2000 Lusso is considered a classic and is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. Its combination of beautiful design, advanced engineering, and engaging driving dynamics makes it one of the most beloved Alfa Romeo models from the era.
The Lusso version, with its additional luxury features, is particularly prized for offering a more refined take on the GTV experience, making it a desirable model for those who appreciate both performance and comfort.
The Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2000 Lusso remains an iconic example of 1970s Italian automotive design, blending style, luxury, and performance in a way that only Alfa Romeo could.

ALFA ROMEO
75 3.0 America
1989

SOLD

The Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 America, also known as the Alfa Romeo Milano in North America, is a high-performance version of the Alfa Romeo 75, a compact executive car produced by the Italian automaker from 1985 to 1992. The "75" was named to commemorate Alfa Romeo's 75th anniversary, and it was the last car developed entirely by Alfa Romeo before the company was acquired by Fiat.

The Alfa Romeo 75 was introduced in 1985 as a replacement for the Alfetta and Giulietta models. It was positioned as a rear-wheel-drive sports sedan with advanced engineering and distinctive styling.
The 3.0 America version, introduced in 1987, was a top-of-the-line variant designed specifically for the North American market. It featured a larger 3.0-liter V6 engine and additional features tailored to meet the preferences and regulations of American buyers.

The Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 America was powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine, part of the legendary "Busso" engine family, designed by Giuseppe Busso. This engine is renowned for its smoothness, power delivery, and distinctive exhaust note.
The 3.0-liter V6 produced approximately 188 horsepower and 218 Nm (160 lb-ft) of torque. This power was sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission, which was the standard option, although some models may have been equipped with a 3-speed automatic transmission.
The engine's performance allowed the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 7 seconds, with a top speed of approximately 134 mph (216 km/h).

The Alfa Romeo 75 featured a unique transaxle layout, with the gearbox and differential located at the rear, providing near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution. This setup greatly enhanced the car's handling and balance.
The front suspension utilized double wishbones, while the rear featured a de Dion tube with a Watts linkage, a sophisticated design that combined sporty handling with ride comfort.
The 75 3.0 America also came with upgraded brakes and sportier suspension tuning compared to the lower-end models in the range.

The Alfa Romeo 75 had distinctive, angular styling with sharp lines and a wedge-shaped profile, characteristic of 1980s design. The 3.0 America version featured specific styling cues to differentiate it from other models in the lineup.
The car was equipped with a unique front grille, side skirts, and often featured alloy wheels that were specific to the 3.0 America model. It also had integrated bumpers and distinct badging, including the "America" or "Milano" insignia, depending on the market.
Inside, the 75 3.0 America offered a driver-focused cockpit with sport seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, and high-quality materials. The interior was functional, with a focus on the driving experience, although some elements like power windows and air conditioning were standard or optional, depending on the trim level.

The Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 America was positioned as a premium sports sedan, competing with other European offerings like the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz 190E. It appealed to enthusiasts who valued driving dynamics and Italian style over more mainstream choices.
In North America, where it was sold as the Alfa Romeo Milano, it developed a cult following for its unique blend of performance, handling, and character. However, like many Alfa Romeos of the era, it was sometimes criticized for its build quality and reliability issues.

The Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 America is remembered as one of the last truly driver-focused Alfa Romeo sedans before the brand's shift under Fiat ownership. Its combination of the Busso V6 engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, and advanced suspension makes it a standout model in Alfa Romeo's history.
The car's involvement in motorsports, particularly in the Italian Superturismo Championship, where it was highly successful, further cemented its reputation among enthusiasts.

Today, the Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 America is considered a desirable classic, especially among Alfa Romeo aficionados. Its unique design, advanced engineering, and the legendary Busso V6 engine make it a sought-after model.
The car's value has been steadily increasing in the classic car market, particularly well-maintained examples with original features. Enthusiasts appreciate it for its driving dynamics, rarity, and the nostalgia associated with late 1980s and early 1990s performance sedans.
The Alfa Romeo 75 3.0 America is a symbol of Alfa Romeo's engineering excellence and dedication to creating cars that are as enjoyable to drive as they are distinctive in design.

HISTORY  INFORMATION

CLEAN AND UNDISTURBED 75 3.0 V6 EXAMPLE IN REALLY REMARKABLE CONDITION.
THIS IS A "FL 89" VERSION , NOT CATALYZED WITH 188 H.P, MATCHING NUMBERS AND COLORS. IT WAS EQUIPPED WITH THE  AIR CONDITIONING AND REAR POWER WINDOWS OPTIONS

IT WAS SOLD IN SPAIN AND STAYED A FIRST HAND CAR UNTIL IT CAME TO BELGIUM.
UNTIL 1998 IT WAS USED AS DAILY FAMILY CAR, THEN REPLACED WITH A 156 AND IT BECAMETHE "WEEKEND" CAR FOR THE OCCASIONAL FUN DRIVE.

IT NEVER HAD ACCIDENTS AND THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS IN AWESOME NICE AND CLEAN SHAPE.
OVER THE YEARS SOME DENTS AND SCRATCHES OF NORMAL USE COULD NOT BE AVOIDED AND THE METALLIC COAT STARTED TO CRACK IN SOME POINTS (UNFORTUNATELY VERY USUAL PROBLEM IN THIS "BIANCO ARGENTO" COLOR),. SO A COMPLETE REPAINT WORK WAS PERFORMED BY CLASSIC CARS SPECIALIST, WITH A SUPERB RESULT ,MAYBE BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL FROM ARESE.

THE CABIN IS VERY WELL PRESERVED AND DID NOT NEED ANY WORK ,JUST A GOOD DETAILING AND A NEW HEADLINING (OTHER RECURRENT ALFA 75 PROBLEM). THE SEATS CLOTH, THE DOOR CARDS, THE MOQUETTE ,ALL IS IN SURPRISING EXCELLENT CONDITION.

TECHNICALLY THE CAR REFLECTS ITS LOW MILEAGE AND EVER CORRECT MAINTAINANCE.
EXPERTS THAT KNOW THE MODEL WELL WILL ACKOWLEDGE THE BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SUCH A "FRESH" ALFA 75 AND THOSE THAT SUFFERED A HEAVY USE.
THIS 3.0 DOESN'T HAVE ANY VIBRATIONS OR ANNOYING NOISES, THE GEARBOX IS ACCURATE IN EVERY GEAR. BALANCED BRAKES AND EXQUISITE HANDLING CHARACTERISTICSQ MAKE THIS 75 AMERICA A REAL EXPERIENCE.

FIAT
Seicento Schumacher
2001

Fiat 600

The Fiat Seicento "Schumacher" is a special edition of the Fiat Seicento, a small city car produced by the Italian automaker Fiat from 1998 to 2010. The Seicento was a successor to the popular Fiat Cinquecento, and it was designed to be an affordable, compact, and practical car for urban environments. The "Schumacher" edition, launched in the early 2000s, was a tribute to the legendary Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher, who was driving for Ferrari, another Fiat-owned brand, at the time.

The Fiat Seicento Schumacher edition was introduced in 2001, following Schumacher's success in Formula 1 with Ferrari. The special edition aimed to capitalize on Schumacher's popularity and bring a sportier, more exclusive version of the Seicento to the market.
The car was based on the Seicento Sporting, which was already the sportiest version of the standard Seicento.

The Seicento Schumacher was equipped with a 1.1-liter FIRE (Fully Integrated Robotized Engine) inline-four engine. This engine produced around 54 horsepower, which, while modest, was adequate for the car's small size and lightweight.
The car's performance was oriented more towards agile handling and city driving rather than outright speed. It had a top speed of approximately 93 mph (150 km/h) and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 14 seconds.
The car featured a 5-speed manual transmission, which provided a more engaging driving experience compared to an automatic.

The Seicento Schumacher had the same basic chassis and suspension setup as the Seicento Sporting, with MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam rear suspension. The setup was tuned to provide a balance between comfort and sporty handling.
The Schumacher edition also included a lowered suspension, which improved its handling characteristics, making it feel more responsive and agile in corners.

One of the most notable features of the Fiat Seicento Schumacher was its distinctive styling. The car typically came with a sporty body kit that included front and rear spoilers, side skirts, and alloy wheels, giving it a more aggressive look compared to the standard Seicento.
The exterior featured special Schumacher badging, often with Michael Schumacher's signature or the Ferrari "prancing horse" logo, reflecting the car's connection to the Formula 1 champion.
The car was available in a limited range of colors, often including bright red—a nod to Ferrari's racing colors.

Inside, the Seicento Schumacher edition featured a more sporty and exclusive interior compared to the standard model. This included sports seats with enhanced bolstering, special upholstery, and Schumacher-branded details.
The dashboard and interior trim might have included unique touches, such as contrasting stitching, aluminum pedals, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
While the interior was still simple and functional, these upgrades provided a more engaging and exclusive driving environment.

The Fiat Seicento Schumacher was marketed as a fun, affordable, and sporty city car that allowed fans of Michael Schumacher and Ferrari to experience a bit of the racing spirit in their daily drives.
It was targeted at younger drivers and enthusiasts who wanted a small, practical car with a bit of extra flair and exclusivity.

The Seicento Schumacher edition holds a special place in the history of Fiat's small cars due to its association with Michael Schumacher and Ferrari. While it was not a high-performance vehicle, it captured the spirit of racing in a small, accessible package.
The model is remembered as a symbol of the early 2000s and the height of Schumacher's dominance in Formula 1, making it a unique piece of automotive history.

Today, the Fiat Seicento Schumacher is considered a collectible, particularly among fans of Fiat and Ferrari, as well as those who admire Schumacher's legacy in motorsports.
Its rarity as a special edition, combined with its distinctive styling and motorsport connection, makes it more desirable than the standard Seicento models. Well-maintained examples, especially those with original features and low mileage, are sought after by collectors.

The Fiat Seicento Schumacher is a special edition that blends the practicality and compact nature of the Seicento with a touch of racing spirit, making it an interesting and unique part of Fiat's automotive lineup.

ALFA ROMEO
Giulia Super 1300
1971

The 1971 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1300 is a variant of the Alfa Romeo Giulia, one of the most iconic and beloved models produced by the Italian automaker. The Giulia, introduced in 1962, was known for its combination of elegant design, advanced engineering, and sporty performance, qualities that were rare in sedans of that era. The Giulia Super 1300 was a more affordable version of the Giulia range, offering a balance of performance and practicality.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia was designed to be a compact executive car that could serve as both a comfortable family sedan and a sporty driver’s car. It became one of Alfa Romeo’s most successful models, with various versions produced over its lifespan from 1962 to 1978.
The Giulia Super 1300 was introduced in 1965 as part of the ongoing expansion of the Giulia lineup. It was designed to appeal to buyers who wanted the Giulia’s style and engineering but at a more accessible price point, thanks to its smaller engine.

The Giulia Super 1300 was powered by a 1.3-liter (1290 cc) inline-four engine, an iteration of Alfa Romeo's famous twin-cam engine. This engine was known for its responsiveness and willingness to rev, characteristics that were highly valued by enthusiasts.
The 1.3-liter engine produced around 89 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 111 Nm (82 lb-ft) of torque at 3000 rpm. While these figures might seem modest by modern standards, they were quite respectable for a 1.3-liter engine in the early 1970s.
The engine was paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, which was a standout feature at the time, offering a level of driver engagement rarely seen in competing sedans.
The Giulia Super 1300 had a top speed of approximately 170 km/h (105 mph) and could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 13 seconds, making it one of the quicker small sedans of its time.

The Giulia was renowned for its advanced engineering, particularly in its chassis and suspension setup. It featured a unibody construction, which contributed to a lightweight and rigid structure.
The front suspension used independent A-arms with coil springs, while the rear had a solid axle with trailing arms and coil springs. This setup provided a good balance between ride comfort and handling performance.
The car's handling was further enhanced by a low center of gravity and near-perfect weight distribution, which made the Giulia Super 1300 agile and responsive in corners.

The Giulia’s design was characterized by its boxy yet aerodynamic shape, which was quite advanced for its time. The car's drag coefficient of 0.34 was remarkably low for a sedan of its era, contributing to both its performance and fuel efficiency.
The Giulia Super 1300 featured the same basic design as the more powerful Giulia models but with subtle differences, such as simpler chrome trim and smaller wheels.
The front end was distinguished by its characteristic heart-shaped grille, flanked by round headlights. The overall design was elegant yet understated, with clean lines and functional proportions.:

Inside, the Giulia Super 1300 offered a straightforward but well-designed cabin. The seats were supportive, and the driving position was designed with ergonomics in mind, making long drives comfortable.
The dashboard featured a simple layout with clear instrumentation, including a speedometer, tachometer, and other essential gauges. The steering wheel was typically a three-spoke design, adding a sporty touch.
While the interior was not as luxurious as some higher-end models, it was well-constructed, with high-quality materials and attention to detail that reflected Alfa Romeo's commitment to craftsmanship.

The Giulia Super 1300 was positioned as an entry-level model within the Giulia range, targeting customers who wanted the prestige and performance of an Alfa Romeo without the higher cost associated with larger engines.
Despite its smaller engine, the Super 1300 still offered the same advanced engineering and driving dynamics that made the Giulia a favorite among enthusiasts.:

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1300 is remembered as a car that offered a unique blend of practicality, performance, and style. It played a significant role in making the Giulia a success by broadening its appeal to a wider audience.
Its advanced engineering, particularly in terms of aerodynamics and handling, set new standards for compact sedans of the time.

Today, the Giulia Super 1300 is highly regarded among classic car enthusiasts, especially those who appreciate Alfa Romeo's engineering and racing heritage. It is considered a desirable classic, particularly well-preserved or restored examples.
Its value as a collectible has been rising, with many appreciating its combination of timeless design, driving enjoyment, and historical significance.

The 1971 Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1300 remains an iconic representation of Alfa Romeo's ability to produce cars that were not only technically advanced but also engaging and enjoyable to drive. Its enduring appeal is a testament to the quality and innovation that characterized Alfa Romeo during this era.

HISTORY INFORMATION

2013 the car was bought immediately after it was imported from Italy by a trader (Belgium) and first check up and care was given at a local classics garage. The car has been on the road all these past years with regular maintenance.

ALFA ROMEO

1975

Spider

SOLD

The Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Junior "Coda Tronca" is a classic Italian sports car produced by Alfa Romeo between 1972 and 1974. The "Coda Tronca" refers to its distinctive "cut-off" or truncated tail design, which was a departure from the more rounded rear end seen on earlier Alfa Romeo Spiders. This design was intended to improve aerodynamics, a concept that was becoming increasingly important in automotive design during the 1970s.

Key Features:

  1. Design and Styling:

    • Coda Tronca Tail: The most distinguishing feature of this model is its "Coda Tronca" or "Kamm tail," named after the German aerodynamicist Wunibald Kamm. This squared-off rear end was designed to reduce drag and improve stability at high speeds.

    • Body Style: The Spider 1600 Junior was a two-seater convertible, featuring classic Pininfarina styling with sleek lines, a low profile, and an elegant design typical of Italian sports cars of the era.

    • Interior: The interior was relatively simple, yet stylish, with a focus on the driving experience. It typically featured bucket seats, a wooden steering wheel, and a dashboard with analog gauges.

  2. Engine and Performance:

    • Engine: The Spider 1600 Junior was powered by a 1.6-liter (1570 cc) twin-cam inline-four engine. This engine was a smaller, more affordable version of the engines found in higher-end Alfa Romeo models, but it still delivered a spirited driving experience.

    • Power Output: The engine produced around 108 horsepower (hp) at 6000 rpm, which, combined with the car's light weight, provided agile handling and respectable performance for its class.

    • Transmission: It came with a 5-speed manual gearbox, which was praised for its smooth shifting and responsiveness.

    • Top Speed: The car could reach a top speed of approximately 180 km/h (112 mph).

  3. Chassis and Suspension:

    • Chassis: The Spider 1600 Junior had a monocoque chassis, which was both lightweight and rigid, contributing to its nimble handling characteristics.

    • Suspension: The suspension setup included independent front suspension with coil springs and a live rear axle with trailing arms, offering a balance between comfort and sporty handling.

  4. Market Position and Legacy:

    • Junior Model: The "Junior" designation was used by Alfa Romeo to indicate a more affordable, entry-level model in the Spider lineup. Despite being the entry-level model, the 1600 Junior still retained much of the style and performance of its more expensive siblings.

    • Collector's Item: Today, the Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Junior Coda Tronca is considered a desirable classic, appreciated for its unique design, driving dynamics, and connection to the golden era of Italian sports cars. Its rarity, especially in well-preserved condition, adds to its appeal among collectors.

Overall, the Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Junior Coda Tronca is celebrated for its combination of Italian style, engaging driving experience, and the distinctive Coda Tronca design, making it a true icon in the history of classic sports cars.

Montreal

ALFA ROMEO
Montreal
1972

SOLD

The Alfa Romeo Montreal is a classic Italian sports car produced by Alfa Romeo between 1970 and 1977. It is renowned for its striking design, powerful V8 engine, and its unique blend of elegance and performance. The Montreal was initially introduced as a concept car at the 1967 Expo 67 in Montreal, Canada, which is how it got its name. Due to the positive reception, Alfa Romeo decided to bring it into production.

Key Features:

1. Design and Styling:

  • Exterior: The Alfa Romeo Montreal was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, one of the most celebrated automotive designers of the time. The car's design is characterized by its distinctive front end, which features four headlamps partly covered by slatted grilles that retract when the lights are turned on. The car also features a prominent hood scoop and NACA ducts on the front fenders, giving it an aggressive and sporty look.

  • Side Profile: The car has a sleek, low-slung profile, with a fastback rear and large side vents behind the doors, which add to its unique appearance. The overall design is a combination of muscularity and elegance, typical of Italian sports cars from the era.

  • Interior: The interior of the Montreal is luxurious for its time, with a driver-focused cockpit that includes a comprehensive dashboard with numerous gauges and controls. High-quality materials such as leather and wood trim were used, adding to the car's premium feel.

2. Engine and Performance:

  • Engine: The Montreal is powered by a 2.6-liter V8 engine, derived from Alfa Romeo’s racing program, particularly their Tipo 33 sports prototype. This engine is one of the most distinctive features of the Montreal, setting it apart from other Alfa Romeo models of the time, which typically used inline-four engines.

  • Power Output: The V8 engine produces around 200 horsepower at 6500 rpm, which was quite powerful for its time. This engine features mechanical fuel injection and is paired with a 5-speed ZF manual transmission.

  • Performance: The Montreal is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in around 7.6 seconds, with a top speed of approximately 220 km/h (137 mph). The car’s performance was considered impressive for a road car in the 1970s.

3. Chassis and Suspension:

  • Chassis: The Montreal features a steel monocoque chassis, which provides rigidity and contributes to the car’s solid handling characteristics.

  • Suspension: The car is equipped with independent suspension at the front and a live axle with coil springs at the rear, designed to offer a balance between comfort and sporty handling.

4. Market Position and Legacy:

  • High-End Sports Car: The Alfa Romeo Montreal was positioned as a high-end sports car, competing with other exotic cars of the time, such as the Porsche 911 and the Jaguar E-Type. It was more luxurious and powerful than Alfa Romeo’s other models, which made it a desirable car for enthusiasts.

  • Limited Production: Approximately 3,917 units of the Montreal were produced, making it a relatively rare car today. Its combination of unique design, powerful engine, and limited production numbers has made it a highly sought-after collector’s item.

  • Cultural Impact: The Montreal is celebrated among car enthusiasts for its bold styling and distinctive V8 engine. It remains an iconic example of Italian automotive design and engineering from the 1970s.

Conclusion:

The Alfa Romeo Montreal is a standout model in the history of Alfa Romeo, combining striking Bertone styling with a powerful V8 engine and high-performance characteristics. Despite being somewhat overshadowed by more widely known sports cars of its era, the Montreal has gained a cult following and is highly regarded among collectors and classic car enthusiasts. Its unique blend of Italian style and performance ensures its place as an enduring icon of the 1970s.

HISTORY INFORMATION

Heritage documents confirm that the car was produced in August 1972 and was destined for the Belgium market. Before the car arrived for restoration, it was, anecdotally, thought to be one of two cars owned by the Lips family who owned the Autotron car museum in Drunen in the Netherlands.

The Alfa Romeo Montreal is a Marcello Gandini masterpiece whilst working for the Bertone Studio. It is undoubtable one of his finest designs. This car was first supplied in Belgium in 1972.

The colour like Alfa Romeo named it is Verde Medio AR223. It is extremely attractive and with great finish added to a full body restoration and mechanical overhaul in the recent past meticulously carried out in the Netherlands. The restoration included taking the bodywork back to bare metal and restoring it in top-quality fashion. The nice and thin panelwork aligns perfectly wherever you look. As expected the car has retained its original rims, resprayed and shod in good and correctly sized rubber. The chrome brightwork splendidly accentuates the fantastic design. The engine was taken apart down to the last screw. An expert professionally rebuilt the engine leaving us with a smooth running engine and optimal power. The suspension (shock absorbers and tension bar) was fully replaced and a brake kit specially developed for Montreals was installed, as well as a completely new stainless steel exhaust, parts supplied by Alfaholics UK. It is not entirely certain though when and where those replacements exactly were carried out but in its original description the UK auction house states: “Since being in its current ownership further upgrades have been made to the brakes, suspension and exhaust components to produce a car which is more than a match for modern road speeds and conditions”. One thing for sure, the condition of the underside of this Montreal, like the engine, the inside and the entire body are an absolute delight to the eye.

The car was imported  to the UK in the latter part of 2022 with it first being registered there in November 2022.

Inside the car is just as attractive with a “Avana Beige” cloth covering the comfortable refilled seats in combination  with new carpets and matts. Also refurbished or are the headlining, the dashboard with the fine cluster and controls working properly. The boot cover is also in very good condition and has a smooth action.

After the UK owner suffered from an injury soon after this excellent Montreal was again put for sale via a reputable auction house in UK. A classics trader in the Netherlands acquired the Montreal and it finally ended up back again in Belgium, my collection, where it was registered on 13/10/2023.

The Montreal has a V8 2.6 litre engine with Spica fuel injection. The engine develops 200 Ps and is coupled to a manual 5-speed gearbox. The Montreal reaches speeds of up to 220 km/hr with zero to 100 km/hr in 7.1 seconds.

With the car there is an extensive containing information about the restoration together with photos and invoices. A Alfa Romeo heritage certificate is also included.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova Super 1300 is a classic Italian sports sedan that was part of Alfa Romeo's lineup in the 1960s and 1970s. Here’s a detailed overview of the car:

The Giulia Nuova Super 1300 was produced from 1974 to 1977. It was a continuation of the earlier Giulia Super models, which were first introduced in 1962.

The Giulia Nuova Super 1300 is a four-door sedan. It retained the classic boxy design of the earlier Giulia models, which was both aerodynamic and distinctive for its time.

Compact in size, the Giulia was practical for city driving but had the styling and proportions that made it stand out.

The "Nuova" in the name indicates the updated styling of this version, which featured a redesigned front grille with twin round headlights, a more modern bumper design, and some refinements in the body lines. It maintained a simple, elegant design that has aged well over the decades.

The Giulia Nuova Super 1300 was powered by a 1.3-liter inline-four engine, which is where the "1300" in its name comes from.

The engine produced around 89 horsepower (67 kW), which was impressive for a 1.3-liter engine of that era.

The car came with a 5-speed manual transmission, which was quite advanced for a small sedan at the time.

Performance: With a relatively light body (around 1,000 kg or 2,200 lbs), the Giulia Nuova Super 1300 had lively handling and was known for its nimbleness and sporty driving experience. The car could reach a top speed of about 160 km/h (99 mph).

The car featured independent front suspension and a live rear axle, which provided a good balance between comfort and handling. The steering was precise, making the car a joy to drive, especially on winding roads.

It was equipped with disc brakes on all four wheels, which was quite advanced for the time and contributed to its reputation for safety and performance.

The interior was simple but functional, with a driver-focused dashboard and clear instrumentation. While it wasn't overly luxurious, it provided the essential features and a comfortable environment for both the driver and passengers.

The Giulia Nuova Super 1300 offered seating for four, with supportive front seats that were designed for spirited driving.

Motorsport Pedigree: The Giulia series, including the Nuova Super 1300, was known for its motorsport success, especially in touring car racing. The car's performance characteristics made it a favorite among enthusiasts.

Cultural Icon: The Giulia has become a symbol of Italian automotive design and engineering. The Nuova Super 1300 is particularly cherished for maintaining the classic Giulia characteristics while offering some modern updates for the mid-1970s.

Classic Status: Today, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova Super 1300 is considered a classic and is sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. Its blend of style, performance, and heritage makes it a valuable addition to any classic car collection.

In summary, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Nuova Super 1300 is a well-regarded classic sedan that combines Italian styling with a sporty driving experience. It represents a key period in Alfa Romeo’s history and continues to be celebrated by automotive enthusiasts worldwide.

ALFA ROMEO
Alfetta GT 1,8
1976

Alfetta GT 1,8

SOLD

The Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT 1.8, introduced in 1974, is a significant model in Alfa Romeo’s history, representing a mix of sporty design, innovative engineering, and classic Italian style. The Alfetta GT was developed as a coupé version of the Alfetta sedan, and it carries many of the technological innovations introduced in the sedan, but with a sportier, more performance-oriented focus. Here's a closer look at the Alfetta GT 1.8:

Design

  • Exterior: The Alfetta GT was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign, who is renowned for designing some of the most iconic cars of the 20th century. The design featured sharp, angular lines with a wedge-like profile, characteristic of many 1970s sports cars. The long, sloping hood, sleek coupe silhouette, and fastback rear give the Alfetta GT an unmistakable, classic sports car appearance.

  • Interior: Inside, the Alfetta GT is driver-focused, with a minimalist but functional design. The seats are supportive and designed for spirited driving, while the dashboard is simple yet stylish, featuring analog dials and a driver-oriented layout. The use of high-quality materials like leather and wood trim gives the interior a premium feel.

Engine & Performance

  • Engine: The Alfetta GT 1.8 is powered by Alfa Romeo’s 1.8-liter twin-cam inline-four engine, a hallmark of Alfa Romeo’s engineering expertise. The engine produced 122 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 168 Nm (124 lb-ft) of torque, offering respectable performance for the time.

  • Performance: The GT 1.8 could accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in around 9.5 seconds, which was quite competitive in its class in the 1970s. The top speed was around 190 km/h (118 mph). While not a supercar by today’s standards, the Alfetta GT 1.8 was known for its engaging driving dynamics rather than outright speed.

  • Transmission: The car came with a 5-speed manual transmission, which, combined with its rear-wheel-drive layout, made it a joy to drive for enthusiasts. The smooth and responsive gearbox helped enhance the driving experience.

Chassis & Suspension

The Alfetta GT 1.8 benefited from advanced engineering, with several notable features that set it apart from competitors:

  • Transaxle layout: One of the key features of the Alfetta range, including the GT, was its rear-mounted transaxle, which houses the transmission and differential at the rear of the car. This design provided a nearly 50:50 weight distribution, improving handling and balance.

  • Suspension: The front suspension used double wishbones with coil springs, while the rear had a de Dion tube layout, which was advanced for the time and contributed to excellent handling. This setup ensured the Alfetta GT handled corners with agility and stability, making it a driver’s car.

Handling & Driving Experience

  • The Alfetta GT 1.8 is celebrated for its balanced handling and sharp steering. The 50:50 weight distribution provided by the transaxle design gave it exceptional poise on the road, particularly during cornering. Combined with the independent front suspension and de Dion rear setup, the Alfetta GT offered both comfort on longer journeys and excitement on twisty roads.

  • The car also had four-wheel disc brakes, which were rare in its class at the time, providing strong stopping power.

Technological Innovations

For a car of the 1970s, the Alfetta GT featured several advanced technologies, including:

  • Transaxle for balance: The transaxle layout was a key innovation in terms of both weight distribution and driving dynamics.

  • De Dion suspension: This gave the Alfetta GT better rear axle stability while preserving comfort and handling precision.

Legacy

The Alfetta GT 1.8 is part of the Alfetta GT and GTV family, which would later evolve into the GTV6, one of Alfa Romeo's most famous sports cars. While the GTV6, with its V6 engine, would garner much attention, the Alfetta GT 1.8 laid the foundation for Alfa Romeo’s coupe success in the 1970s and 1980s.

Collectibility

The Alfetta GT 1.8 is considered a classic, with its mix of Italian styling, innovative engineering, and engaging driving experience. It's appreciated by enthusiasts today for its handling and design, though it doesn’t command as high prices as some of Alfa Romeo’s more exotic models. However, its rarity, particularly in well-preserved or restored condition, makes it a desirable car for collectors who appreciate its unique qualities.

Conclusion

The Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT 1.8 is a distinctive blend of Italian flair and engineering innovation. Its balanced handling, transaxle design, and sharp Giugiaro styling make it an important and beloved model in Alfa Romeo’s history. It remains a rewarding car for classic car enthusiasts who appreciate its combination of style, performance, and advanced engineering for its time.

Here’s an overview of the car:

Design

  • Exterior: The 3200 GT has a curvaceous, elegant body with a distinctive Maserati grille at the front and smoothly flowing lines. These lights created a striking visual element and set the car apart from competitors.

  • Interior: The cabin is richly appointed with leather, wood, and high-quality materials. It offers a luxurious and comfortable environment for long-distance driving, typical of a grand tourer.

Engine & Performance

  • Engine: The car is powered by a 3.2-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which produces 365 horsepower and 491 Nm (362 lb-ft) of torque. This engine is a revised version of Maserati’s earlier V8 used in their racing and road cars.

  • Performance: The 3200 GT can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in around 5.1 seconds, and has a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph). This places it firmly in the high-performance grand tourer category.

  • Transmission: It came with a 6-speed manual transmission, though later models offered a 4-speed automatic option. The manual transmission enhances driver engagement, giving a more visceral driving experience.

Handling & Dynamics

The 3200 GT is a rear-wheel-drive car, delivering balanced handling and a sporty driving experience. Its chassis was designed to handle the power output effectively, offering a balance between comfort for cruising and sharpness for dynamic driving. Maserati used independent suspension systems with double wishbones, providing precise handling while maintaining comfort.

Technology

  • For its time, the 3200 GT was packed with advanced technology, including ABS, traction control, and optional electronic stability program (ESP) for safer handling at higher speeds. It also featured advanced climate control, a premium sound system, and driver aids like parking sensors.

Legacy

The Maserati 3200 GT is significant for several reasons:

  1. Revival for Maserati: It was pivotal in reviving Maserati's fortunes under Ferrari’s ownership, re-establishing the brand as a maker of luxury sports cars.

  2. Predecessor to the 4200 GT (Coupe): In 2002, the 3200 GT was replaced by the Maserati 4200 GT, which shared the design but used a naturally aspirated Ferrari-derived V8 and lacked the iconic boomerang taillights due to regulations in the U.S. (where the car would be sold).

Special Versions

  • A limited edition model called the Maserati 3200 GT Assetto Corsa was introduced in 2001, featuring sportier suspension, upgraded brakes, and some minor visual enhancements.

Collectibility

Today, the Maserati 3200 GT is seen as a highly collectible car, particularly because of its unique styling, its status as a transitional model between Maserati’s older generation and its more modern models under Ferrari’s influence, and its rarity. The boomerang taillights remain a beloved and defining feature for car enthusiasts.

Conclusion

The Maserati 3200 GT stands out as a classic blend of Italian luxury, performance, and design. It represents an important chapter in Maserati’s history, offering both elegance and thrilling performance, while helping set the stage for Maserati’s modern-day models.

This 3200 GT has been in my posession from new. With such a very low mileage and ever good care it looks and it is like brand new inside out.
